We are very lucky to live in a town with such amazing outdoor play spaces. I often get asked what are the best playgrounds and parks in Oakland Park, so I thought I’d share here with you my family’s picks for our favorite playgrounds and parks to visit in Oakland Park!
Locations are listed alphabetically:
1000 NW 38th St,
Oakland Park, FL 33309
What we love about Easterlin Park:
Easterlin Park is a huge area with a lot to do. We love the shaded playground, all the wildlife, and nature trails. We recently learned that some of the cypress trees there are 250 years old. The kids love playing sand volleyball and horseshoes as well. You can even camp overnight at Easterlin Camp! Before showing up ready to camp, be sure to reserve your spot online.
Amenities at Easterlin Park:

Oakland Park, FL 33334
What we love about Green Leaf Park & Spiher Recreation Center Playground:
Green Leaf Park and Playground has one of our favorite climbing trees in the city. Sometimes my kids want to climb trees and other times they want to swing from the monkey bars, Green Leafs offers both options and more. The playgrounds here are so much fun for all ages. There are slides, rock walls, swings, a rope bridge, monkey bars, and an area for smaller kids.
Amenities at Greenleaf Park & Spiher Recreation Center Playground:

Oakland Park, FL 33309
What we love about Royal Palm Park:
Royal Palm Park has a bit of everything to offer including a playground, a pathway next to the water with exercise stations, and multiple courts for various sports. We really love biking the pathway and looking at the ducks, ibis, egyptian geese, and even the occasional rooster!

Park Lane West 1701 NW 38th Street

What we love about Stunson Nature Trail:
Stunson Nature Trail is about a quarter mile nature trail loop through Florida wetland ecosystems. We have both walked and biked the trail many times. The walk is not only wonderful exercise but also an educational experience for children and adults alike. Educational signage is displayed throughout the various habitats.
Amenities at Stunson Nature Trail:
NW 21st Ave,
Oakland Park, FL 33309
What we love about Veteran’s Park:
Veteran’s Park is a linear park that features a small but very nice fenced in playground, a walking path near the water, and a giant military tank. The walking path is the perfect distance for kids and has a boardwalk over the water where we have spotted turtles, ducks ,and fish. We have been to Veteran’s park many times and the kids still get excited about the tank at the end of the path. They playground is nature themed and features many balancing apparatuses.
