June 4th is #nationaldonutday, so naturally it was the perfect day for Argentinian born Diego Macedo to open the newest culinary adventure in Oakland Park, Pink Donuts and More. Located at 827 E. Oakland Park Blvd, this brand new bakery shares a plaza with a nail shop, a pharmacy, and the long time OP staple, Fetish Factory.

More than Donuts

Macedo saw a need in Oakland Park for his offering of vegan donuts (adorably shaped like a square), 30+ flavors of specialty donuts, 10 flavors of croissants, 6 flavors of empanadas, cold brewed coffees, and Italian espresso.

The house specialties are a Chocolate donut with Sriracha Bacon and a powdered sugar coated Chantilly Cream and Strawberry stuffed split donut. I would have liked to have gotten the chocolate sriracha bacon , but sadly they sold out within five minutes of the doors opening. I was lucky however, to have the delectable strawberry and chantilly donut and it did not disappoint.

Not only does Pink Donuts and More have your tried and true donut favorites, but they also offer delicious flavors like S’mores, PB&J, Guava, Crushed Oreo, Nutella, and Banana Cream. Looking for something different? Try the Nutella stuffed Monkey Bread or maybe a Pistachio croissant.

Pop Art Decor and Friendly Staff

You’ll feel instantly elated when upon entering you’re greeted by the colorful Pop Art decor and the friendly, knowledgeable staff. While I was waiting, a very exuberant customer came bounding in and exclaimed, “I’m the one one who called about the vegan donuts! I’ve been waiting for you to open! I’m so happy!”.

Macedo said he’s going to listen to the requests of the customers so he can offer more tailored items, potentially sandwiches for the lunch crowd and much more. Having the bakery allows him to be as creative as he wants to be. Feeling sorry that your Dade county friends don’t have a PD&M by them? Macedo has other plans to open a second location in Miami Beach and also at the Farmers Market in Aventura.

So get your fix on #nationaldonutday and every day of the week from 8am -4pm or whenever they sell out, which if today is any kind of barometer, will probably be very early!
