This morning at around 5am a pedestrian was killed by a Tri-Rail train. The incident occurred near Oakland Park Boulevard and NW 17th Terrace.
Passengers that were aboard the train when the incident occurred are being transported by bus to their final destinations.
Police Tries to Preserve de Scene
Police are diverting traffic from the area in order to preserve the scene of the fatality while they conduct their investigation.

Another Fatality with the Tri-Rail
This is the third fatality with the Tri-Rail train in Oakland Park. Just over a month ago another pedestrian was struck and killed on September 14 by the Tri-Rail just north of Commercial Boulevard. Just over a year ago Clivet Romero, a resident of Oakland Park was killed when he attempted to cross the tracks and his Maserati was struck by the oncoming Brightline train.
