The House That Messi Bought

Messi Becomes Part of InterMiami

Leonel Messi, the Argentine soccer superstar, after playing for 21 years at Barcelona and winning the World Cup in 2022 decided to leave European Soccer League to play for David Beckham’s new InterMiami team. Miami and South Florida are, in general,  a microcosm of Latin America, and as a result, a hot spot for soccer. This convergence of factors, plus the opportunity to leave his mark on this side of the Atlantic, made coming to Miami a natural choice for Messi.

Messi Mania

The Messi Chicken Sandwich at the Hard Rock Hotel

The moment Messi announced his move to Miami, the number of InterMiami social media followers surged. Hard Rock announced the Messi Sandwhich, and Messi mania took a firm grip of South Florida. But Messi himself is known as being a humble, low-key guy and in that spirit decided to move his family out of the hub-bub of Miami to a calmer, private neighborhood in Fort Lauderdale, Bay Colony.

Pleasantly Posh

The mansion Messi purchased cost $10 million dollars. It is located at the end of an isle and set on almost 1/2 an acre with plenty of water frontage. It has just over 10,000 SF of living area, 8 bedrooms, 9 and 1/2 bathrooms, a 3 car garage, and beautiful pool deck. It is pleasantly posh.

The pictures shown below are from when the previous owner purchased the home.

Near The InterMiami Stadium

More practically the house is just a few miles from the InterMiami stadium which is just west of I95 off of Commercial Blvd. The area has many schools, both public and private, from which the family can choose to send their three sons. As the Messi family settles into their new house, we certainly hope they can make a home here in Broward.
