Tom Blanski’s Manor Mirror: Providing Antique Mirrors & Custom Glass Since 1989

While decorating trends come and go, antique mirrors never truly go out of style. Broward County residents are fortunate to have the best antique mirror and custom glass company in South Florida located right here in Oakland Park.

Manor Mirror, owned and operated by Tom Blanski, is a Veteran-owned antique mirror and custom glass company that stocks some of the most beautiful antique mirrors in the state. When you shop there, you’re not only getting the best product possible, but you’re also supporting a small business belonging to someone who does a lot for the community.

Antique Mirrors, Custom Glass, and More at Manor Mirror

While every glass shop is different, Manor Mirror is unique because they stock and offer samples of more than 50 different antique mirror options. These mirrors are called “antique” because they are designed to look 100-200 years old and feature unique patterns. Tom describes Manor Mirror as the go-to spot for antique mirrors in almost all of Florida.

In addition to antique mirrors, Manor Mirror also does custom glass for walls, gym mirrors, cabinets, backsplash, and more. They can even do mirror removal by coming to your home or business, removing the mirrors, and disposing of them properly.

While Tom is the owner, Manor Mirror wouldn’t be as successful as it is today if it weren’t for the help of Tom’s dedicated secretary, Maria. Maria has been working with Tom for more than 15 years. She takes care of almost everything in the shop ranging from scheduling to phone calls. She is likely to be the person welcoming you inside with a smile and helping you when you walk through the door.

Tom says they try to offer “While You Wait” service for smaller items. For example, if you just need a piece of window glass or glass for a picture frame, they do their best to be able to fulfill your request quickly while you have a seat and wait.

Tom Attributes Manor Mirror’s Success to the Kiwanis Club

Tom originally opened Manor Mirror out of his home in 1989, shortly after he and his family moved here from Minnesota. His former sister-in-law and her husband lived next door, and her husband was a member of the Wilton Manors Kiwanis Club.

Tom joined the Kiwanis Club as well and describes it as the best thing he ever did. There were a number of contractors and small business owners in the club who were encouraging Tom to open his own mirror and glass business, reassuring him that they would send him plenty of business – and they did!

While Tom had worked for other glass companies, he had never owned a business before, but he was brave enough to take a leap of faith and open Manor Mirror. Tom explains, “I never went to college and never owned a business before, but my first stab at starting a business was still successful. I owe my business to the Kiwanis club.”

An Active Member of the Oakland Park Community

Tom Blanski is not only a small business owner, but he is also an active member of the community. He is the current president of the Oakland Park Kiwanis Club, and his work with the Kiwanis is his true passion. Tom even runs the Kiwanis Backpack Program right out of his business, which consists of packing backpacks full of food for local elementary school students and their families who are in need.

Tom’s business is important to him and it pays the bills, but it is apparent that he doesn’t let work consume his life. He and his employees are able to take time off when they need it, go on vacation, and do things they enjoy rather than spending their lives at work. Tom is not only an example that you can be successful no matter your experience or education, but he is also an inspiration to live life to its fullest while helping those around you.
