The BSO Public Information Office is working on a developing incident regarding a hit-and-run in Oakland Park.
At around 6:08 p.m., BSO dispatch received a call reporting a hit-and-run. Deputies reported to the scene of the incident at the intersection of Northwest 43rd Street and Northwest Fifth Avenue in Oakland Park. When they arrived on the scene they discovered that a vehicle struck a child and fled the scene.
Oakland Park Fire Rescue was also on the scene. They transported the child to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries.
BSO deputies remained on the scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the hit-and-run.
