BSO Investigates Bomb Threat In Oakland Park

The BSO Public Information Office is currently working a developing incident regarding a bomb threat incident located at the Extra Space Storage at 4950 N. Dixie Highway in Oakland Park just across the street from the Publix at Dixie Crossing.

Public Information Officer Gerdy St. Louis is currently gathering the details. Here’s what we know so far:

At approximately 11:10 a.m., Broward Sheriff’s Office Oakland Park district deputies responded to a bomb threat incident at Extra Space Storage at 4950 North Dixie Highway in Oakland Park. BSO bomb squad unit was notified and are on scene investigating this active incident. The business has been evacuated at this time. The traffic lanes on Northeast 11th Avenue between Prospect Road and Commercial Boulevard are shut down until further notice. Motorists are asked to seek alternate routes. The investigation continues.
