Sun and Fun: Your Guide to the Best Spring Break Activities in Broward County

As the weather warms up and the flowers start to bloom, it can only mean one thing: it’s spring break time! For many students, this week-long break from classes is the perfect opportunity to relax, recharge, and have some fun.

And while some may opt for a traditional beach vacation, there are plenty of other ways to make the most of your time off. Fortunately, some businesses in Oakland Park and nearby cities are now offering fun spring break activities. 

City of Oakland Park Spring Break Camp

Lloyd Estates Elementary School – 750 NW 41st St. | Oakland Park, FL

This Camp is for boys and girls between the ages of 4-13, from March 20 to 24. We offer field trips and events daily, which will include lunch and snack for the entirety of the week.

Program hours: 7:30 am – 6pm
Camp cost: $125.00 all inclusive

The ORANGE 2022-2023 “On The Move” travel shirt is required for all trips. This shirt can be purchased at Oakland Park City Hall by credit card, check or money order Monday-Friday between 8am-5pm. The cost for each shirt is $10.70. We can accept a check or money order only at the Lloyd Estates Elementary School program site for your T-Shirt as well.

  • A late pickup fee of $15 is incurred at 6:01pm and every 15 minutes thereafter per child left in our care. Late pickup fees must be paid before the child can return to the program.
  • Closed toe sneakers are required daily.
  • No toys, games, etc. are to be brought from home.

Island's City Spring Camp

Spring Break Camp is held during the Broward County Schools Spring Break during the regular school session. Programs are held at Island City Park Preserve for kids grades K-5.

Kid's Camps Humane Society of Broward County

The Humane Society of Broward County offers a week-long camp during spring break. From March 20 to 24, kids camp day runs from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm for kids ages 6-12.

In the camps the kids will learn about staying safe around animals and get supervised hands-on interaction with animals. The fun includes themed crafts, games and other activities – it’s ALL animals, ALL day!

A week of Spring Break Camp will include:

  • Camp T-Shirt
  • Friday pizza lunch and ice cream sundae bar
  • Furry animal time
  • Animal toy and treat making
  • Lessons on animal care and responsibility
  • Fun games and activities!

Mission Parkour Academy Spring Break Camp

From March 20 to 24, Mission Parkour Academy will have a Spring Break Camp for individuals age 5 and up. It’s a great way to learn and develop parkour skills in a fun and supportive environment. This camp will offer activities that are designed to help participants build strength, agility, and confidence. For the younger kids, Mission Parkour will offer some different ideas like making their own parkour blocks and also video edit and filming their own parkour lines.

Campers will have the opportunity to learn from experienced parkour instructors, practice their skills on different obstacles and challenges, and connect with other like-minded individuals who share their passion for this exciting discipline. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced practitioner, this Spring Break Camp at Mission Parkour can be an unforgettable experience that helps you take your skills to the next level.

Cost: $249 week or $65 daily

Spring Break Theater Camp 2023

Join us for a trip to Tinseltown as we sing and dance our way down the red carpet. Performing an array of songs and scenes from movie musicals, have your star-studded moment in Hooray for Hollywood!

GRADES 2-8 | $295
During this week-long theater experience, students study acting, singing and dance while rehearsing for a Broadway revue featuring a lively selection of music and dance numbers that students will perform on the last day of camp. This class is offered in partnership with The Performance Project School of the Arts. Grades 2-8.

TEEN PROGRAM: GRADES 9-12 | $150
Teens earn volunteer hours by helping the younger campers in the morning. They then receive coaching on a song and/or monologue in the afternoon which they perform on the final day. This program is especially helpful with preparing for competitions and auditions as well as gaining high school service hours.
