It is becoming harder to remember a time when you could not find
Blink and you would miss it, but within the Plaza 3000 on Federal Highway, across the way from the Coral Ridge Shopping Center, you will spot the beautiful teal lettering that paints out “Cactus Flower”.
The glass windows frame just a small preview of the treasures inside. When you open the door, you are welcomed into a bright, sunny atmosphere with a country cottage, homey feel. Wooden armoires and desks are elegantly decorated by theme to theme. The first table, adorned with amber candles, wicker pumpkins, and leaf-printed cotton tea towels, provides all the warm feelings of cider, autumn, and gold.
You have a hard time of where to look next, since every display has scenery within itself. Each aisle leads to an interior designer’s secret door – and a gift for every occasion.
Displayed on a large wooden dining table, is a complete set of dishes, napkins, and pitchers with lemon motif. A baker’s rack holds the most precious gifts for babies on the way. All in neutral creams, powder blues, and ballerina pink, you will find stuffed seahorses, bunnies, and lambs that would truly make a new parent swoon.
A woman strolls along the displays, touching the soft blankets, sniffing a bar of handmade soap… one of the employees gently asks, “Who is your gift for? May I suggest looking over here?”. It is the customer service and delicate attention to details that makes gifting a special event when you are in Cactus Flower.
Candy Johnson opened the store on Federal Highway 33 years ago. A small, local business owner, she currently employs 4 other women who live in the area and feels proud to be a female business success story. As president of Cactus Flower, Inc., she has always felt a commitment to provide interesting décor and gift items beautifully displayed to all of Broward County.
By providing a uniquely pleasant shopping experience with smiling faces, Candy and staff shine in the community with their customer services such as complimentary premium gift wrapping, bridal registry, local delivery, and UPS shipping.
If you have a style in mind, the designers featured at the shop have been hand selected and ordered from Candy, after years of experience with high quality and sought-after registry items.
The website is a great taste of what the store offers, including best sellers, new items, and reviews from customers on products. Some of the key designer names that Cactus Flower carries are Nora Fleming, Mariposa, Hester & Cook, and Lux Candles. You can peak around their Instagram to see all the seasonal goodies that are elegant yet fun!
Some of the items are engravable or can be monogramed, made from 100% recycled aluminum, and will be a gift that will last forever. If you are a beach bum who loves to shop and ship from local artisans and jewelers, you will easily find some shell, pineapple, or palm tree trinket that will promote our sunshine state.
When asked about the local neighborhood and customers, Candy remarked “I feel deep gratitude and fondness for our phenomenally loyal customers and for our supportive community, and we participate in local charity events in response to this loyalty and support.”
If you are looking to partner for a fundraiser this holiday season, email [email protected] or visit the shop in person! Open Monday-Saturday 10am-5pm, unless specified and posted holiday hours.
