Are you looking for a fun time with new friends, while supporting a good cause? Our Social Bunch hosts social and networking events that promote different charities. Women of all ages and their partners are welcome to attend these entertaining, meaningful and, of course, charitable events.

Meet Angel Houston, “Our Social Bunch” Creator

Angel Houston, the founder of Our Social Bunch, moved to South Florida with her husband five years ago. Angel had been involved with non-profit groups for many years such as the Ronald McDonald House and Women in Distress.

When she moved to South Florida she was excited to share her love of community and socializing with women and their partners right here in Oakland Park and surrounding areas. She wanted to create a warm and inviting network of charitable organizations in her community. This desire prompted her to start Our Social Bunch, a unique way for women to dress up, have fun and socialize all while supporting organizations in need.

Angel Houston, in red dress, idealized Our Social Bunch as a way to socialize while supporting organizations in need.

Our Social Bunch Events

The motto for Our Social Bunch is “Sip, Shop, and Support.” The group creates events that are themed and fun. Event attendees enjoy a variety of creative experiences all the while helping a good cause. These are some of the types of events Our Social Bunch has held, which show what it means to Sip, Shop and Support!

Beachy Fun

The Pier 6 Rooftop in Pompano Beach, Florida welcomed the ladies of Our Social Bunch, to enjoy a beachy fun time! Women came wearing tropical outfits and enjoyed sipping on drinks while overlooking the water. Local female-owned business owners served as vendors, and attendees enjoyed shopping while supporting local artisans. The enjoyable event partnered with a non-profit organization called the Children’s Aid Club. Those in attendance donated diapers and baby wipes to the Children’s Aid Club to help children in need.

A Wild Night in Rio

Mary Ann’s Foster Closet partnered up with Our Social Bunch for a Brazilian themed event called A Wild Night in Rio.  The beautiful Sand’s Harbor Marina Resort in Pompano Beach served as a venue for this fun-filled soiree.  Everyone who attended brought bathing suits, swim shirts, and beach attire for foster children, aged 1-12. Women-owned businesses and artisans served as vendors, and guests enjoyed shopping.   Shane LeMar Entertainment provided music, and guests enjoyed a special Brazilian menu.

Community Partnerships

Our Social Bunch has partnered with many different community organizations. Some of the organizations the Bunch has donated to include Jacob’s Shoes, Kids in Distress, Mary Ann’s Forster Closet, Atlantic Technical College Transition into Employment, Children’s Aid Club and more.

Mary Ann’s Foster Closet provides foster parents and the children in their care with clothing, toys, and other necessities. As a place where foster parents and caregivers can come to get those items at no cost, the institution depends mostly on donations.

In the last event promoted by Our Social Bunch, Mary Ann’s Closet was able to collect several items that will help may children and foster families. “Thanks to Our Social Bunch fundraiser at Sand’s Harbor, we received 60 new bathing suits and 12 rash guards. Not to mention all the other little goodies like swim diapers, flip flops, shorts, tee shirts, baby supplies and cash donations”, the organization, run by Tracie Catalano, stated on their Facebook page.

In one of the last event promoted to benefit Kids in Distress, Our Social Bunch was able to collect 400 donated preschool books.

Local Vendors

Besides supporting community organizations, Our Social Bunch supports local artisans. Event attendees shop while they sip and support making it an all around win-win for the community.

Local vendors are women-owned and sell unique items such as jewelry, clothing, bath and body items, one-of-a-kind crafts, and more. Two Black Sisters, Maya Life Therapy, and Sunny Paw Grooming are just a few of the vendors that have boosted their business exposure through the events arranged by Our Social Bunch.
