On Friday November 26 at around 8:00pm BSO received a call regarding a domestic disturbance in Oakland Park. The call, which involved the victim eventually killed by the vehicle in the crash, occurred in the 4100 block of NW 16th Ave in Oakland Park.
When BSO deputies responded to the domestic disturbance incident, both parties were separated. A short time later the victim, whose name has been withheld due to Marsy’s Law, left the scene and was seen walking northbound on NW 16th Ave.
According to investigators, Lorenzo Gordon of Hollywood was driving a 2011 Honda Accord northbound on NW 16th Ave with Andrew Robinson, 27, of Oakland Park. Gordon noticed something in the roadway and swerved to avoid the object but was unsuccessful. The object turned out to be the woman from the domestic disturbance call.
BSO and Oakland Park Fire Rescue responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital. At the hospital, the victim was pronounced deceased.
Investigators have learned that the victim, after leaving the scene of the domestic disturbance call, laid down in the middle of the road before being struck by the Honda Accord. Investigators have no further information at this time and the investigation is on-going.
If you have any information regarding this incident, please contact BSO traffic homicide to report it.
