It’s that time of year again, the unofficial yet surprisingly recognized commencement of the Holiday Shopping Season! So how did black Friday become such a big shopping day?
Black Friday: When Did It Start?
It would be hard to track back to the actual date Black Friday came to be, but by the looks of it the retail specials seem to date back to the 19th century. Many stores sponsored Thanksgiving parades were very common adding Santa Claus at the end of the parade to signify the beginning of the holidays and of course shopping time! The stores sponsors wouldn’t have any sales or huge advertisements until after Thanksgiving, which led to huge profit.
