A Dream Is Born
Five years ago Erica and Kim met while working in a clinic in Oakland Park. They had opposite schedules but it was clear they had a connection. Part of the connection they shared was their philosophy of doing the best they could for each and every patient.
Kim had always envisioned opening up her own clinic and Erica wanted to help the community. Recently they put their visions together and a dream, the Oakland Park Wellness Center, was born.
Along the way to building that dream these dedicated professionals learned about alternative ways of achieving well-being such as aromatherapy, meditation/yoga, acupuncture and benefits of organic CBD.
“Patients are very knowledgeable and are educating themselves with other modes of achieving wellness besides conventional medicine …At the OPWC we plan on combining both conventional medicine with alternative methods and offering patients education and access to these methods via referral to local mindfulness centers and healthcare providers, as appropriate”.
The Oakland Park Wellness Center’s Mission
The mission of the Oakland Park Wellness Center is to provide members of our community the opportunity to achieve and maintain healthy lifestyles through prevention, counseling, screening, and diagnosing and treating common illnesses and conditions at affordable prices.
Working in retail health both Kim and Erica saw the need to offer people without insurance affordable healthcare. This need to fill the “gap” is behind the Oakland Park Wellness Center’s mission. Kim and Erica intend to provide high-quality and convenient healthcare services to everyone at an affordable cost with minimal to NO wait time. A visit to the OPWC starts at just $70 for sick visit such as sore throats, sinus /ear infections, pink eye and UTIs. Truly affordable compared to the other clinics which start at $99 to $160.
“As nurse practitioners we focus on the whole individual and ALL ways of well-being. We do take the time to LISTEN! …we look forward to caring for ALL members of the Oakland Park community using our center as their healthcare resource. Whether it’s for a sore throat, a physical, vaccine, PPD testing or lifestyle counseling we want to be a facilitator in aiding our local families to live healthy and stay well”.
OPWC Supports the Oakland Park Community Too!
Kim and Erica recognize the importance of local support. They believe in our community businesses helping other local businesses by promoting each other. Patients with local businesses are encouraged to come in and add their business card to the “BUILD OUR OP COMMUNITY” cork board for networking purposes.
